Press Setter Operator
Experienced Press Setter Operator required to join dynamic new company with exciting future guaranteed, through currently secured long term customer contracts. As a leading manufacturer of high-quality springs and pressings, serving a diverse range of industries including automotive, aerospace, medical, and consumer goods, your role within the organisation, as Press Setter Operator will involve setting and operating Power Presses, Multi-slide machines and setting and running high speed Progression Tools and secondary operation presses, to ensure products are manufactured to the highest quality and to required deadlines.
Suitable candidate for the role of Press Setter Operator should possess a background in automotive manufacturing and must have extensive experience of setting and operating Power presses up to 200 tonne, multi-slide machines including Bihler, Simas and Heenan Froude and be experienced in setting and running high speed progression tools and secondary operation presses in the manufacture of spring clip pressings and forming of spring wire products. The position of Press Setter Operator is offered as a Permanent contract on Late Shift, with competitive rates of pay plus shift allowance, Pension and immediate start available.
Duties and Responsibilities of Press Setter Operator:
- Set up and operate coil fed presses (up to 200 tonne) – Bihler, Simas, Heenan Froude
- Set tooling and coil feeders – completing as per engineering drawings
- Change over coils and feed in to tools
- Set and run high-speed stainless-steel strip coil on both power presses and multi-slide
- Inspection of the product from appropriate drawings
- Observe machine operation to verify accuracy of machine settings and to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, using precision measuring instruments
- Work according to Production Plan
- Maintain accurate data/records/documentation associated with your work
- Carry out tasks within allotted time limits
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, policies and procedures, codes and legislation including health and safety
- Immediately report problems/failures that may impact on the organisation and/or its clients/customers to Line Manager
- Contribute towards the smooth running of the team
- Responsibly use resources and control expenses to meet agreed budgetary controls
- Adhere to all organisation policies and procedures
Skills and experience required by Press Setter Operator:
- Extensive experience of setting/operating Power presses up to 200 tonne and Multi-slide machines
- Setting and running high speed progression tools and secondary operation presses in the manufacture of spring clip pressings and forming of spring wire products
- Capable of working on own initiative and running a Press/Multi-slide section
- Setting and running high-speed stainless-steel strip coil on both power presses and multi-slide
- Fully conversant with High Volume Automotive Production and Quality Standards
- Reliable, dedicated and possessing high attention to detail
Location: Redditch, Worcestershire
Hours of Work: Mon to Thurs 2 pm – 10 pm, Fri 1 pm – 8 pm (39 hours)
Salary: £36,504.00 p.a. (£15 per hour plus 20% shift allowance)
