CNC Programmer/Setter

Leading precision engineering organisation requires an experienced CNC Programmer/Setter to join their long-established team in Redditch. Successful candidate will be responsible for Programming, Setting and Operating Horizontal & Vertical CNC Milling machines to produce high-quality parts and components. Offered as a Permanent contract, with competitive pay rate based on experience.

Previous CNC experience is essential to fulfil the position of CNC Programmer/Setter. Within this role you will be offered overtime, free car parking and company pension.

CNC Programmer/Setter duties will include:

  • Online Program, set up, and operate 3 and 4 axis (X, Y, Z & A) milling machines to produce high-quality components to precise specifications
  • Monitor production processes to ensure that they meet quality standards
  • Strong knowledge of CNC programming using FANUC controls
  • Plan machining by studying drawings
  • Program milling machines by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; offsets, compensation, and conditional switches
  • Calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs
  • Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces; adhering to international standards
  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations

Skills/Attributes required by CNC Programmer/Setter:

  • Previous experience within a similar role within the machining industry (essential)
  • Understanding of IATF 16949/ISO 9001 and its contribution to the business to help to achieve objectives
  • Problem solving and tool improvement
  • Must be able to work on own initiative
  • Attention to detail
  • Be organised and have the ability to prioritise and multi-task
  • Be able to communicate effectively to own team and other departments
  • Proven efficiency with working practices

Location: Redditch, Worcestershire
Hours: Monday to Friday 6am – 2pm/2pm – 10pm (rotating shifts) 40 hours p/w
Salary: £16 per hour, plus shift allowance
